Every direct recruitment of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission starts from One Time Profile Registration, known as OTPR, and its form has a panel of photo and signature rules. The photograph is a JPG under 50 kilobytes, 3.5 centimetres wide and 4.5 tall; the signature is a JPG under 30 kilobytes, 3.5 centimetres wide and 1.5 tall. The panel also says your name and the date the photo was taken must be clearly printed on the photograph itself. Type both here, add the photo, and they are set in a white band under your face. The signature is cleaned to solid ink on white, trimmed to the strokes and fitted into the low 3.5 by 1.5 shape. The rules are read from the registration form shown in the Commission's Direct Recruitment OTPR user manual, linked with the day it was read. The form gives centimetres without a resolution, so the 200 DPI used for the pixels, 276 by 354 and 276 by 118, is ours. What you add is processed on our server and deleted when the files are done. ## The photograph Colour or black and white are both accepted, as long as the contrast is clear. Do not wear a cap or goggles; ordinary spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not accepted, so use a studio print, a scan of one, or a clear digital photo against a plain background. Keep the file a little below the 50 KB line: the photo made here stops at 49,000 bytes, so it is under the limit whichever way the portal counts a kilobyte. ## The name and date The form's own sample shows the name and the date of photography in capitals on two lines under the picture, and that is how they are printed here. The form does not say how tall the band should be, so we use 18 % of the photo, which keeps both lines readable while leaving the face large. Edit either box after adding the photo and the file is redone the moment you click away. ## The signature The signature box is short and wide, a little over twice as wide as it is tall. Sign with a dark pen on white paper and photograph only the signature, or scan just that area: the APPSC FAQ asks for the required area only, not the whole page. If the signature looks faint or shadowed in the picture, sign again in good light with a thicker pen; the cleaner cannot add strokes that are not there. ## Using your OTPR Once registered, your OTPR ID carries these pictures into each notification you apply to, and the same registration can be modified later from the Commission's website. Keep the pair of files, so that a later update uses the same photo and signature.
