# Resize a handwritten declaration for a form

Write the declaration on white paper, photograph it, and get a clean file at the size the form asks for.

## How it works

1. **Add your images** Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.
2. **Pick a quality or a target size** Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.
3. **Download** Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.

Some recruitment forms ask candidates to copy out a short declaration by hand, sign it, and upload a picture of the page, to show the writing is their own. A phone photo of a sheet with several lines of writing is often dim, tilted and much too heavy for the upload slot. This page turns it into dark writing on white paper, crops close to the text and fits it into the pixel size and KB range you type.

The cleaning is the same as for signatures: the light across the sheet is measured and evened out, so a shadow from your hand or phone disappears, and the ink becomes solid. The whole block of writing is kept and fitted inside the box, never trimmed to its shape, so no word at the edge is lost.

The wording of the declaration is set by the organisation that asks for it. Copy it exactly from the official instructions, in your usual handwriting, in English or in the language they allow.

## Writing it so it scans well

Use a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper, and write clearly in lines of even length. Leave a margin round the text. Keep the page flat when you photograph it, and if it comes out tilted, straighten it first with our document scanner, then bring the straight page here.

## Fitting a long text into a small file

Declarations are often allowed around 50 to 100 KB. Dark writing on white compresses well, so at a sensible pixel size the limit is usually met at high quality. If the text looks blurry in the download, the pixel size is too small for the amount of writing; check whether the form allows a larger one.

## Before you submit

Open the download and read every line. Make sure the signature and date at the bottom are inside the picture and readable. If something is faint, write the page again with a darker pen rather than editing the image.

If the portal shows a preview after uploading, zoom into it and check that every word is still clear. Its preview is often compressed more than your file, so it is a good test of legibility.

## Keeping the original

Keep the paper you wrote the declaration on until the selection is over. Some organisations ask to see the original at a later stage, or to have it written again in front of an examiner, and comparing the two is easier when you still have the first one.

Keep the downloaded file as you submitted it, too. If the portal later asks you to upload it again, you will have exactly the same picture, which avoids differences between versions that officials might notice.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should the declaration say?

Exactly what the form's instructions say. They usually print the wording for you to copy.

### Can I type the declaration instead?

Not when the form asks for a handwritten one; the point is to see your own writing.

### My page is crooked. What do I do?

Run it through the document scanner first: it finds the page's corners and straightens it.

### Is my declaration kept?

No. The photo is deleted from our server as soon as the file is made.

### Does this work for a thumb impression too?

Yes, there is a page for thumb impressions with the same cleaning.

### Can I fit two pages of writing?

The page takes one picture. If the declaration runs over two sheets, write smaller on one sheet, as forms expect a single image.

### Can I use lined paper?

Plain white paper is better. The cleaner usually removes thin pale lines, but dark lines stay and can make the text harder to read.
