# Resize your photo and signature for HPPSC

Get the 110 × 140 photo and the 140 × 110 signature that the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission's online form takes.

## How it works

1. **Add your images** Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.
2. **Pick a quality or a target size** Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.
3. **Download** Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission keeps your details in a one-time profile and attaches a photo and a signature to every online application. Its FAQ gives exact pixel sizes, height first: the photograph 140 pixels tall and 110 pixels wide, the signature 110 pixels tall and 140 pixels wide. Each scanned file is a JPG of no more than 40 kilobytes.

Add your photo and set the crop around your head and shoulders; the file comes out at 110 by 140 pixels and under 40 KB. Add a picture of your signature and the paper is turned white, the ink solid black, and the signature centred in the near-square 140 by 110 box.

Every figure is from the Commission's own FAQ page, linked with the day it was read. Your images are processed on our server only long enough to make the two files and are deleted straight after.

## The photograph

The FAQ accepts both colour and black and white photographs, as long as the person is clearly identifiable. At 110 pixels across there is little room, so frame the face large, with a plain background and even light, and avoid dark glasses or a cap.

Converting a TIFF or BMP to JPG is one of the FAQ's own questions; here any common format, phone pictures included, comes out as JPG.

## The signature

The Commission asks for a signature put on white paper with a black ink pen. The box is almost square, so a short signature fills it best; a long one is shrunk to fit the 140-pixel width and may look thin. Sign a little larger than usual and photograph it straight on.

If your signature comes out faint, sign again with more pressure, or switch to a thicker black pen; the cleaner darkens ink but cannot invent strokes that are missing.

## Sizes height first

The FAQ writes each size as height by width, which is easy to swap by mistake: 140 by 110 for the photo means tall, and 110 by 140 for the signature means wide. The files here are made the right way round, and each slot shows its width and height in pixels.

A file the wrong way round is the most common reason the form rejects an otherwise good picture, together with a file just over the 40 KB limit.

## Before you submit

The FAQ says an application cannot be changed once submitted, so check both pictures in the preview first. Keep the two files for the next recruitment; the profile takes the same sizes each time.

Name the files so you can tell them apart later, for example with your name and the word photo or signature, and keep a copy on your phone as well as your computer.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the HPPSC photo 140 × 110 or 110 × 140?

140 pixels tall and 110 wide. The FAQ writes height first.

### What is the largest file allowed?

40 KB for each of the photograph and the signature.

### Can the photo be black and white?

Yes. The FAQ accepts black and white or colour photographs that meet the size.

### What pen should I sign with?

A black ink pen on white paper, as the FAQ asks.

### Are my images kept?

No. They are used on our server to make the files and erased right afterwards.

### Can I edit my application after submitting it?

No. The FAQ says submitted applications are final, so check the images before you submit.

### My photo is a TIFF. Will it work?

Yes. Add it here and it comes out as the JPG the form asks for.
