They upload over an encrypted connection. 2. **Pick a quality or a target size** Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need. 3. **Download** Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP. Kerala Public Service Commission takes every application through One Time Registration on its Thulasi profile, and the profile holds one photo and one signature for all the posts you apply to. The photo must be 150 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall, a JPG of no more than 30 kilobytes; the signature is 150 by 100 pixels, also capped at 30 kilobytes. The Commission makes the candidate's name and the date the photo was taken compulsory on the uploaded picture. Type both here before adding the photo, and they are printed in a white band under your face, inside the 200 pixels. Add a picture of your signature and it is turned into dark ink on clean white, cropped close and fitted into 150 by 100 pixels. The sizes come from the Commission's photo instructions and its OTR instructions, both published in Malayalam and quoted here in translation, with the day they were read. Whatever you add is turned into files on our server and wiped from it straight after. ## The photograph The face and shoulders must show clearly, with the face looking straight ahead and centred in the frame and both eyes plainly visible. The background should be white or a light colour. A colour or a black and white photo is accepted. Caps, goggles, or a photo showing only one side of the face lead to rejection; headwear worn for religious reasons is allowed. If your background is darker than it should be, the switch on the photo slot replaces it with white. ## The name and date Write your name as it is in your profile and the date of photography as you want it shown, for example 04.11.2026. The instructions do not set the height of the band, so we use 18 % of the photo, enough for two clear lines at this small size. After uploading, the portal also asks you to type the same name and date into its own boxes: use exactly what is printed on the photo. Changed your mind about the name or date after adding the photo? Edit the box and the file is made again when you leave it. ## The signature Sign on white paper with a dark pen and photograph or scan just the signature. The OTR instructions ask for a clear signature, so keep it large on the page and avoid shadows; the cleaner here lifts the paper to white and the ink to solid black before fitting it into 150 by 100 pixels. ## Ten years of use A photo uploaded to the profile stays valid for ten years for applications made under the Commission's notifications, so it is worth getting right once. Keep the downloaded pair: if the profile ever needs them again, you can upload the same files. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is the photo 150 × 200 or 200 × 150? 200 pixels tall and 150 pixels wide, a portrait shape; the file made here is exactly that. ### Must the name and date be on the photo? Yes. The Commission's photo instructions make both compulsory. ### Is a black and white photo accepted? Yes, the instructions accept colour or black and white, as long as the face is clear. ### Do you keep my photo? No. It is processed on our server and removed as soon as your files exist. ### How long can I use the same photo? Ten years from upload, according to the Commission's instructions. ### What should the date be? The day the photograph was taken, written the way you want it to appear. ### Why does Thulasi refuse my photo?
