# Put a photo and a signature in one image

Some forms have one upload slot for both. Add the two pictures, and get them stacked in a single file.

Most applications have separate slots for the photo and the signature, but some, from admit-card portals to club membership forms, ask for both in a single picture: the photo on top, the signature underneath. This page opens the collage maker with the pictures in a column, so the first picture you add sits above the second.

Add your photo first and your signature second, or use the arrows to swap them. Choose a canvas size, the space between the two, and whether each picture fills its half or is shown whole. White is the usual background. Then download a JPG, and if the form sets a file size, set the quality or target so the file comes in under it.

Make each part right before you combine them: the passport photo tool sizes the photo and the signature cleaner turns a phone shot of a signature into clean ink.

## Getting the proportions right

Both pictures get the same height in a column, so a wide, low signature looks small beside a tall photo when each is shown whole. Cleaning and cropping the signature tight first gives it more presence. If the form names a total size in pixels, set the canvas to it; a square or portrait canvas usually suits this pairing best.

## Why some forms combine them

A single image proves the signature belongs with the face, and it is simpler to print on an admit card or an identity badge. The form's instructions often show an example; match its order and spacing as closely as you can.

Name the file sensibly, for example with your name and the application, so you can find it again later.

## After downloading

Open the file and check that the signature is legible and nothing is cropped. If it is too heavy for the upload, the compress to KB tools bring it under a limit without changing its size in pixels.

For a printed admit card, a portrait canvas of about 600 by 900 pixels gives the photo room and keeps the signature readable once printed small.

## A white gap or none

The space between the pictures is white by default, which reads as one card. Some forms show the signature touching the photo; set the gap to zero for that. Rounded corners are usually not wanted on official uploads, so leave them off unless the example shows them.

If the form gives an exact proportion between photo and signature, for example a signature a quarter of the height, prepare both separately at the right sizes first. The collage gives each the same height, so for strict rules that route is more reliable.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I put the signature beside the photo instead?

Yes: choose the row layout in the collage settings.

### Can I add a third picture, such as a thumb impression?

Yes, the collage takes up to nine pictures in the order of the list.

### Will the photo be stretched?

No. Each picture either fills its cell with its edges trimmed or is shown whole on the background.

### Are my pictures kept?

No. They are combined on our server and deleted straight afterwards.

### Which format should I download?

JPG, unless the form asks for PNG; it is smaller for photos.

### Can I do this on a phone?

Yes. Add both pictures from the phone's gallery or camera, choose the layout and download.

### Can I replace only the signature later?

Yes. Remove the signature from the list, add the new one and download again; the photo and settings stay as they were.
