A collage puts several photos into a single picture, which is handy when a post, a message or a form allows only one image. Add your photos, choose how they are arranged, and the sketch shows the result as you change the settings.
You decide the shape of the canvas, the space between the pictures, whether the corners are round and what colour shows in the gaps. Each photo is placed in its own cell, trimmed to fit or shown whole with bars around it.
The photos are sent to our server once, when you press the button, and the collage is made there and handed back to you. Your pictures and the result are not kept after that.
Making a collage in four steps
Add the photos first. You can drop them on the list or choose them from a folder, and they take their places in the order they appear. Use the arrows to move one up or down.
Pick a layout. A grid gives every photo the same room, a row or a column lines them up, and the two large layouts give the first photo more space than the others.
Set the size, the gap and the colour, then press the button. The collage is drawn in a moment, and you can change anything and make it again.
Download the picture as JPEG for photos, PNG when you want every pixel kept, or WebP for a smaller file on a web page.
Choosing a layout that suits your photos
Photos of the same shape look best in a grid. A set of tall portraits suits a row, and wide landscapes suit a column.
When one photo matters more than the rest, give it the large place. Put the best picture first in the list and pick one of the layouts with a large cell.
Fill the cell and trim the edges if you want a tidy block with no empty space. Show the whole picture if nothing may be cut off, and accept the coloured bars that go with it.
Size and quality
The canvas sizes follow the shapes people post. Square works almost everywhere, portrait and story fill a phone screen, and wide fits a banner or a slide.
A collage is made at a high resolution, so you can print it or shrink it later. If the file is too big for where it is going, lower the quality or choose WebP.
Ideas for what to make
A before and after pair is the classic use, with two photos side by side in a row. A trip can be told in nine pictures, or a product shown from several angles in one frame.
Collages also help with forms that take a single upload. A set of photos of a damaged parcel, a room for rent or an item for sale can go in as one file that the other person opens once.
Frequently asked questions
How many photos can I use?
From two to nine. With more than nine, make two collages and use them side by side, or choose the grid for the ones you want to keep together.
Are my photos kept?
No. They are sent once to make the collage and are deleted when it is done. The finished picture is handed to you and not stored for later.
Which file types work?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and many others, including photos from an iPhone. A GIF contributes its first frame.
Will the photos be squashed?
No. A photo is never stretched. It is trimmed to fit its cell, or shown whole with bars around it, depending on the setting you choose.
Can I change the order afterwards?
Yes. Use the arrows in the list, check the sketch and make the collage again.
Does the order of the list matter?
Yes. The first picture takes the first cell, which in the two large layouts is the big one. In a grid the cells fill from left to right and from top to bottom.
