How it works

  1. Add your images

Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.

  2. Pick a quality or a target size

Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.

  3. Download

Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.

Marketplaces and online shops mostly want the same thing from a product photo: the product alone, on white, centred, in a square. This page opens the editor set up for that. The background is white, the canvas is a 2000 pixel square, and the product is scaled and centred on it with a margin, so a range photographed at different distances comes out looking uniform.

Other canvases are one click away: a 1000 pixel square for lighter pages, a tall 1600 by 2000 for fashion, and a wide 1200 by 628 for social cards. With a white background the download can be a JPG, which is what most shop systems expect. Check the requirements of the marketplace you sell on; rules about size and margins differ, and we do not claim that a result meets any particular marketplace's rules.

Products with a clear outline, such as boxes, bottles, shoes and tools, come out well. Transparent or highly reflective products are difficult: glass can be partly removed, and a mirror finish may reflect the old surroundings. Shadows are removed with the background, so the product will not appear to rest on a surface. For a full range, add up to 20 photos at a time for free, or 500 on Pro, and download the batch as a ZIP. Uploads are encrypted, handled on our own servers and deleted within an hour.

Which canvas for which job

The 2000 pixel square is the default because it covers the most demanding case: a marketplace listing where shoppers zoom into the picture. Zoom features generally need a long side of 1000 pixels or more, and 2000 leaves a comfortable reserve. The 1000 pixel square is for your own shop's category pages and thumbnails, where a lighter file loads faster and nobody zooms.

The tall canvas, 1600 by 2000, has the four-to-five shape that clothing and anything worn on a body is usually shown in, and it fills a phone screen well. The wide one, 1200 by 628, is the shape of the preview card that appears when a product link is shared, and of many ad placements.

Shoot the range so it cuts out evenly

The canvas makes results uniform in size, but only the camera makes them uniform in look. Put the camera on a tripod, or stand a phone against something solid, and do not move it between products. Use the same light for the whole session; daylight from a window with a white card on the opposite side is enough. Place each item on a surface whose colour differs from the product, and wipe it first, because dust and fingerprints are very visible at 2000 pixels.

Photograph every product from the same angle. A range in which each box is seen slightly from the right looks deliberate. One where every box turns a different way looks careless, however clean the cut-outs are.

File weight for shop pages

A 2000 pixel product on white, saved as JPG, usually weighs between 150 and 400 KB. A category page showing forty of those would be far too heavy, which is why shop systems generate small thumbnails from the picture you upload. Give the shop the large, clean master and let it do that.

On a site you build yourself, the choice is yours to make. Download WebP instead of JPG and the same picture is roughly a third lighter. Keep the transparent version too if the page background is not white: one cut-out then works on every background the design ever uses.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the result?

This page starts with a 2000 by 2000 pixel canvas. Other canvases and the original size are in the same menu.

Is the product centred automatically?

Yes. On a canvas the product is scaled to fit and centred with a margin.

Does the result meet my marketplace's requirements?

Check their current rules. We do not claim compliance with any marketplace.

Can it handle glass or shiny products?

Often not well. Transparent and mirror-like surfaces are hard to separate cleanly.

Can I have the product on a transparent canvas instead of white?

Yes. Set the background to Transparent and download PNG or WebP. The canvas size and the centring stay as they are.

My product is cut off at the edge of the photo. Will it be completed?

No. The tool removes backgrounds; it does not invent missing parts. Keep the whole product inside the frame when you photograph it.
