How it works
Add your images
Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.
Pick a quality or a target size
Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.
Download
Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.
WebP files are made for websites, and websites want each picture at particular widths. This page scales a WebP to the size you type and saves it as WebP again, at quality 85. Enter a width, a height or a percentage; with one side given, the other keeps the picture's proportions.
Two properties of the format are respected. Transparent areas stay transparent, soft edges included. And an animated WebP is resized frame by frame and put back together, so it still moves afterwards, with the same timing, as long as the fit stays on Keep ratio or Stretch.
Twenty files can be resized together without an account. Your WebP images are sent over an encrypted connection, resized on our own servers and deleted within one hour.
Making the widths a responsive page needs
A modern page offers the browser the same picture at several widths and lets it choose. A sensible set for an image that spans the content column is 480, 800, 1200 and 1600 pixels: the first for phones, the last for large and high-density screens. Run the batch once for each width and you have the whole set.
Always start from the largest original and never from a WebP that has already been reduced, because each reduction is also a new lossy encode. On the Pro plan the file-name pattern can include the width, so the downloads arrive named photo-800.webp and photo-1200.webp, ready to be listed in a srcset.
Stickers and other animated WebP
The commonest animated WebP files are stickers and short interface loops. Messaging platforms that accept custom stickers usually ask for a fixed square size, and animations saved from elsewhere rarely match it. Enter the same number for width and height and choose the fit carefully. Stretch keeps the animation and distorts a picture that is not already square. Fill and crop and Fit and pad give a proper square and return the first frame only, because they change the shape of the frame and not just its scale.
For a moving sticker, the practical route is to make the source square before it is animated, and use this page for scaling alone.
Lossy or lossless output
At the starting quality of 85 the resized picture is written as lossy WebP, the right choice for photographs and for almost anything on a web page. If the WebP is a graphic that was lossless to begin with, an icon, a logo or a diagram, switch the mode to Lossless. The scaled pixels are then stored exactly, with no haze around edges, at the price of a larger file.
One limit comes from the format: a WebP cannot be wider or taller than 16,383 pixels. Enlarging beyond that is refused, and for pictures that size TIFF or PNG are the formats to use.
Frequently asked questions
Does an animated WebP stay animated?
Yes, when you only change its size with the fit on Keep ratio or Stretch. Fits that crop or pad the frame return a still picture.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. The alpha channel is scaled with the image and written into the new WebP.
Does resizing lower the quality?
The picture is encoded once more at quality 85, which adds very little. Reducing the size hides far more than that encode costs.
Can I enlarge a WebP?
Switch on Allow enlarging. The pixels are stretched, so expect a softer picture. For a still photo the AI upscaler gives a sharper doubling.
Can I save the resized image as JPG or PNG instead?
Yes. Change the format in the editor. JPG fills transparent areas with a colour; PNG keeps them.
How do I keep the file small after resizing?
Lower the quality to 75 for photographs, or use Target size to name a limit in kilobytes.
