# Resize your signature for RRB railway jobs

Photograph your signature, and get the JPG the Railway Recruitment Boards' notice asks for, between 30 and 49 kilobytes.

## How it works

1. **Add your images** Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.
2. **Pick a quality or a target size** Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.
3. **Download** Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.

Railway Recruitment Board applications ask for one uploaded image, the signature, with an unusual range: at least 30 and at most 49 kilobytes, and at least 140 by 60 pixels. A clean signature on white paper is usually far smaller than 30 kilobytes, which is why many uploads are refused for being too small rather than too large. This page makes the file land inside the range.

Your photo of the signature is cleaned to black ink on white, cropped close and fitted into a 350 by 200 pixel frame, the shape of the 35 by 20 millimetre box the form shows it in. If the file comes out under 30 kilobytes, it is filled up to the minimum without changing the picture; if it is over 49, the quality is lowered until it fits. A tick shows when it is inside.

The rule comes from the RRB centralised notice CEN 09/2025, linked on the page with the date it was read. The photo is not a file: the application takes it live.

## Signing for RRB

The notice asks for a black pen on white paper, signed in your normal running hand. Signatures in capital letters, partial signatures, a thumb impression in place of a signature and a signature by someone else are listed among the reasons for rejection. Use the same signature at every stage of the process.

A signature that looks different at document verification can delay or stop an application, so keep your usual style.

## Why the frame is 350 by 200

The notice sets a minimum of 140 by 60 pixels and shows the signature in a box 35 millimetres wide and 20 high. The frame here has that box's shape and comfortably more pixels than the minimum; it is our choice and is labelled as such.

A larger frame does not push the file past the limit: the page always brings the weight into the range, whatever the pixel count.

## The live photograph

Instead of a photo file, the form captures your photo with a webcam or the phone's front camera. Sit in good light against a plain background, look straight at the camera, and do not photograph an existing printed or digital picture, which the notice forbids.

## Before you submit

Open the signature at full size and check that every stroke is there and the background is white. Then read the notice for your own CEN: each recruitment publishes its own, and the limits can change.

Keep the file; later stages of the same recruitment may ask for it again in true colour.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does my signature need to be at least 30 KB?

That is the notice's minimum. The page fills a smaller file up to it without changing the image.

### Can I sign in blue ink?

The notice asks for black ink on white paper.

### Which RRB notices use this?

CEN 09/2025 and CEN 04/2025 give the same signature rule; check yours.

### Is my signature stored?

No. It is made on our server and erased once the file is ready.

### What if the tick does not appear?

Retake the photo of the signature in better light, flat and from straight above.

### Is a scanned signature better than a phone photo?

Either works here; the cleaner evens out a phone photo's light and the result is the same file.

### Can I upload a PNG?

No. The notice accepts JPG or JPEG only, which is what this page makes.
