Your strokes or your name are sent to our server to make the file, and nothing is kept afterwards. ## Drawing a signature that looks like yours Sign larger than you would on paper, using the whole width of the pad, and in one continuous movement where you can. A slow, careful signature looks shaky; your usual speed looks natural. If one stroke goes wrong, Undo removes just that stroke. On a phone, turning it sideways gives you more room. The pen setting changes how thick the line is. Medium suits most signatures; thin looks like a fine ballpoint, thick like a felt-tip. ## Transparent PNG or form size A transparent PNG has no paper behind the ink, so it sits on a document, a letterhead or an email footer without a white box around it. A form size is what online applications want: a JPG of an exact width and height, often with a weight limit. The signature is fitted inside that box without being cut or stretched. For everyday paperwork, emails and many online forms, an image of your signature is accepted. Some documents need more: a handwritten signature on paper, or a qualified electronic signature with identity checks. When in doubt, the organisation asking can tell you which they accept. Keep the file safe as you would any copy of your signature, and send it only to people and services you trust. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I sign on my phone? Yes. No. The strokes or name are used to make the file on our server and are not kept or shared. ### Why is the background chequered in the preview? The chequered pattern shows where the picture is see-through. It is not part of the file. ### Can I get a signature in blue ink? Yes.
