# Resize your photo and signature for TNPSC

Get the 130 × 170 photo with name and date, and the 230 × 75 signature, that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission asks for.

## How it works

1. **Add your images** Drag and drop, paste, or pick files. They upload over an encrypted connection.
2. **Pick a quality or a target size** Use the quality slider, or tell it exactly how many KB or MB you need.
3. **Download** Save each file, or grab them all at once as a ZIP.

Every application to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, for Group 1, Group 2, Group 4 and its other recruitments, starts from One Time Registration and asks for two scanned files at 200 DPI. The photograph is 130 pixels wide and 170 pixels tall, between 20 and 50 kilobytes, and saved as Photograph.jpg. The signature is 230 by 75 pixels, between 10 and 20 kilobytes, and saved as Signature.jpg.

TNPSC also wants the applicant's name and the date the photo was taken printed under the face, inside the same 170 pixels: 115 pixels of portrait and a 55-pixel strip of text. Type your name and the date here, add your photo, and the strip is drawn for you on white. Add a picture of your signature and it is cleaned, cropped close and fitted into 230 by 75 pixels.

Every number comes from the Commission's Instructions to Applicants, dated 18 June 2026, linked with the day it was read. The pictures you add are made into files on our server and then deleted from it.

## The photograph

The instructions ask for a colour, passport-size photograph against a white background, taken in a photo studio, in a frontal view that shows both ears and part of the neck. For each online application, the photo must be taken on or after the date of that recruitment's notification, so an old picture from a previous cycle will not do.

Selfies, pictures taken on a mobile phone, photocopies, and photos cut from family functions are named as not acceptable. If the background behind you is not white, the switch on the photo slot paints it white for you.

## The name and date strip

Write your name as it appears in your registration, and the date of photography in the form the studio prints it, for example 04.11.2026. Both lines are set in bold black type and centred in the strip at the bottom. Leave both boxes empty and the photo is made without a strip, which TNPSC does not accept.

If you change the name or the date after adding the photo, the file is made again when you leave the box.

## The signature

The Commission asks you to draw a box of 6 by 2 centimetres on white paper and sign inside it with a blue or black ink pen, then scan and crop the page to the box alone. A clear phone picture of the box works here: the paper is made white, the ink solid black, and the signature fitted into 230 by 75 pixels.

Sign in the same style you will use on the answer sheet, since the signature there is compared with the one you upload.

## Before you upload

Name the downloaded files Photograph.jpg and Signature.jpg, as the instructions say, and keep them ready on your computer before you open the registration. Both files from this page are already at 200 DPI and inside their size ranges.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why is the photo so small?

TNPSC states 130 by 170 pixels for the 3.5 by 4.5 centimetre photo, and the files here keep to those pixels.

### Do I have to add the name and date?

Yes. The instructions say both must be printed at the bottom of the photograph and clearly visible.

### Can I reuse my OTR photo for a new post?

Only if it was taken on or after the date of that post's notification; otherwise take a new one.

### Are my pictures stored?

No. They are made on our server and removed from it once your files are ready.

### The photo is below 20 KB on my phone. Is that a problem?

The portal refuses files under 20 KB; the photo made here is brought into the 20 to 50 KB range.

### Can I sign in blue ink?

Yes, the instructions allow blue or black; the cleaner here turns either into solid black.

### Does this cover Group 4 and VAO?

Yes, all TNPSC applications follow the same Instructions to Applicants; check your own notification in case it adds anything.
